HUNGRY IN HEELS

NYFW- Fashion for Charity with Georgie Badiel

New York Fashion Week is here!!! As my first time attending an event for NYFW, I thought it'd be fun to emulate Carrie Bradshaw and the crew. I purchased tickets to a fashion show being held at the DL Lounge in the lower East side. This event caught my eye because I have a passion for nonprofit organizations and giving back to your community. Georgie Badiel was the host of the event and she was collecting donations for the Georgie Badiel Foundation This is an amazing organization that empowers women and young girls through water. She uses her platform as a supermodel to provide clean drinking water and fix wells in her home town of Burkina Faso, Africa. In total, they provided access to clean drinking water to over 25,000 people. Please check out her website and donate!

My ticket included open bar, the fashion show, and an after party at the rooftop. It was my first time at the DL and the venue was really nice, there were plants everywhere, and enough space for it not to get too stuffy or crowded. We grabbed our drinks, and took our seats for the show! Here is a video of Ferret Campos' Mexican inspired designs. (Front row seats!)

I went with my friend Charlenne who is the creator of the blog itsChachic.com Check her out, she is a fellow Dominican blogger from NYC and has great 90s inspired fashion! Here is Charlenne killin' it!

I wore my "go-to look" of a crop top and full skirt, inspired by Bradshaw of course. I think it fits my 5'4 frame well and I don't mind showing a little mid! The off-white crop top was purchased at Express last year on sale, and my skirt is from New York & Company, the Eva Mendez Collection 2016. My shoes are Steve Madden from my retail days at DSW (loved the discount!) My bag is a black foldover faux leather clutch from New York and Company.
