Burgerology Astoria
After the most HECTIC commute to Astoria, Queens, Zuly and I finally made it to Burgerology! Zuly found this place on Instagram and it was catered to us for sure! Crazy shakes, mouthwatering burgers, and appealing drinks. Let me just say after traveling almost 2 hours while experiencing train AND Lyft issues, Burgerology was WELL WORTH IT. We talk about going back all the time!
After all that traveling you could only imagine how hungry we were, so we didn't get any appetizers and went straight for the burgers. Honestly, we came all this way for the shakes but were blown away by the burger selection. Zuly ordered the Atomic burger which is a signature blend with bacon, pepper jack cheese, sauteed jalapenos, and chipotle aioli on a torta bun. She got this with a side of Chipotle fries topped with bacon, scallions, chipotle aioli, and ranch dressing. This girl loves her spice! Along with her burger, Zuly had a refreshing red sangria that we just couldn't stop taking pictures of.
I ordered the Edison burger which is a signature blend with a sunny side up egg, bacon jam, and maple aioli on a torta bun. It was served with house cut fries accompanied with the best garlic aioli I've ever had!! I could not get enough of everything that was going on here! Bacon jam?! Garlic aioli?! Fried egg?! Sign me up again and again! The salty and sweet combo is my absolute fave and when paired with a fried egg, it was like breakfast on a burger! Another thing to mention is how great the bun was because I've had a lot of crazy burgers where the bread was not a good match and this definitely was. We both forgot about the 2 hour commute after the first bite!
Glancing over the milkshake menu, one shake caught my eye and that was the Ferrero Rocher Shake. This shake consisted of vanilla ice cream spun together with Nutella, crushed vanilla sugar wafers, topped with a 4 layer chocolate cake, Ferrero Rocher chocolate and a chocolate tube. YES you read that right! I was in Ferrero Rocher heaven! This shake was just picture perfect.
Zuly ordered the Cookie Doughnut shake which was made up of vanilla ice cream, homemade cookie dough pieces and topped with a glazed doughnut and chocolate syrup (coated with cookie crisp). What an ending to an already great meal!
I gotta say the service here was amazing as well. We were seated right away, our waitress was very kind and funny, and it made our entire experience really worthwhile. Thank you Burgerology for showing these Washington Heights girls a great time!
