175th Street Green Market
Bienvenidos! Welcome to the Green Market in Washington Heights!
One of the things I love more than being from New York is being from Washington Heights. I have such an enormous amount of love for my neighborhood and I am so happy to show you a bit of it in this post! Every Thursday there is a green market on 175th street and Broadway right next to the United Palace from 8am- 5pm. They sell a bunch of things from breads, to fruits and veggies, to jams and pies. It is always so colorful and the people are really nice. Just last thursday I bought hand-made oatmeal soap!
My favorite purchase has been a pound of beets for $2, a half pound of spinach for $2, and 3 ears of corn for $1. That was a total of $5 and I made a great salad with them! Whenever you're in the area on Thursdays please check out the Green Market!
More info on the market can be found here.
Side note: Here are the beets I bought and roasted in the oven for the first time! I LOVE beets and they taste even better fresh and out of the oven instead of the can! The apartment smelled amazing!
I hope you liked all these colorful photos and please check out the market until Nov. 17th!
