Kefi Greek Cuisine
Another successful Groupon date! This time I got a Groupon for Kefi, a Greek restaurant on the Upper West side. The deal consisted of one appetizer, two entrees, one side, and one dessert (an $80 value). Groupon had a deal for $55, and then I had a discount code for 20% off which lowered my total to $44! I love my discounts!
The decor was nice and homey and there were accents of blue everywhere. I personally loved the rugs hanging on the walls. The lighting however, was very dark.
For the appetizer, we ordered the pita and dips platter. This is a combination of all four dips: Tzatziki, Sundried Tomato Hummus, Eggplant, and Caviar. I ended up LOVING the caviar dip! The pita was nice and warm too, with the perfect grill marks.
Joanna ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Platter which is served with rice and salad. The chicken was delicious and very well seasoned. I personally loved how buttery the rice was.
I ordered the Grilled Salmon Fillet served with broccoli rabe, extra virgin olive oil, and fresh lemon. My salmon was really good, I loved the sauce over it. I'm not a huge fan of broccoli rabe but these were cooked in a nice sauce as well.
For our side we got the Roasted Lemon Fingerling Potatoes.
Time for dessert! Although there were some great choices, we were both in the mood for some chocolate! This is the Chocolate Mousse & Halva, not your traditional creamy mousse in a pot, but a decadent little cup of rich chocolate. It almost had an ice cream consistency which I found pleasant. There were also some notes of peanut butter, in addition to the sesame ice cream.
This is how your bill looks after a Groupon meal. All you have to pay is tax and tip!
Thanks for checking out my post! Make sure to try Kefi at 505 Columbus Ave. NYC 10024 between 84th & 85th St.
