Bronx Alehouse
After a lot of recommendations from friends, I went and checked out Bronx Alehouse. It is right off the 1 train on 238th street. The first thing I noticed was the awesome decor, it is very down to earth and welcoming.
The most exciting thing here is the Real Time Tap List. This is a big screen behind the bar telling you what beers are available on tap, how much is left, the kind of cup it comes in, and the percentage of ABV. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Joanna, being the beer drinker, ordered the Krombacher Weizen and I, not being the beer drinker, ordered the Naked Flock Dry Cider. Both were delicious. She also ordered her favorite beer, Sweet Action.
For our appetizer we ordered the Fried Mac n' Cheese which to our surprise were not little balls of mac n' cheese. This was a whopping block of fried goodness.
It is served with sweet BBQ sauce.
For our main meals, Joanna ordered the Thai Chili wings and I got the Chimichurri Skirt Steak (Grilled skirt, queso fresco, chimichurri on a toasted garlic hero). This was a very good sandwich, the bread was great and it came with house made potato chips.
Overall I had a great experience, and we only spent $50! Three beers, an appetizer and two entrees, what a great deal! We definitely want to go back to try other things on the menu! Bronx Alehouse is located at 216 W 238th St, Bronx, NY 10463.
