Tung Thong Thai
I love me some Thai food! Luckily, a place opened up down the street from my house in Washington Heights. Talk about dumplings on deck!! With authentic flavors and affordable prices, Tung Thong is a great place to go.
I recommend my favorite, the Tung Thong - Crispy golden bags filled with shrimp and ground chicken served with plum sauce. They are crispy, a little spicy, and perfectly sized for dipping in their delicious sauce. I seriously want this sauce on everything!
I like to pair it with my other favorite menu item, the Thai Fried Rice - Sauteed rice with egg, onions, tomatoes, chinese broccoli and scallions. This rice is super flavorful, I love the addition of the eggs, and the serving size is enough for two!
Always ask for extra spice!
If you want to try traditional Thai iced tea, I recommend the one served here at Tung Thong. Served in a tall glass, touches of spice, and pairs well with the food. It's very popular.
