Custom Holiday Cards- DIY
Thanks to The Chew, I was inspired to make these Holiday cards and even customize them to what my friends love! As seen on Clintons Craft Corner, Custom Watercolor Holiday Cards.
All you do is cut out a silhouette of a tree, or any shape or character on the front. Then you paint a piece of paper smaller than the card with watercolors and stick it to the back to reveal the colors! I love this idea so much I plan to make more!
Supplies:
Watercolor Paper
Watercolor Paint
Scissors or X-Acto Knife
Glue Stick
Pencil Step 1: Draw out your shape
Step 2: Cut out the shape
Step 3: Paint a piece of paper a little smaller than the front of the card with your watercolors. It doesn't have to be perfect!
Step 4: After the watercolor dries, glue your painted paper onto the inside of the cover.
Step 5: Close your card to reveal the colors! You can also write a nice message inside.
I love this one because you can still see the brush strokes! A happy accident!
I had so much fun making these custom cards! I plan to use this technique for other occasions like birthdays, get well soon, and anniversaries!
Thanks for checking out this post! Stay tuned for more fun DIYs!
