Tumbao NYC
My foodie friend and I went to Tumbao for dinner. Tumbao is a Cuban restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. We had a few drinks for Happy Hour, enjoyed some delicious Cuban food, and sang along to some great Spanish music.
I loved the atmosphere, there were beautiful murals on the walls and the decor was very inviting.
We both ordered Pina Coladas and they were a good size for the price.
For starters, we ordered the guacamole (spicy) and we thought we were ready for that. To our surprise it had a huge kick, but it was still really good guacamole! Bring on the water!
For our entrees, Zuly ordered the Steak Burrito and I ordered the Lechon Asado. The Steak Burrito came with rice and beans, lettuce, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo, and a salad on the side. The Lechon Asado was slow oven roasted pork leg with Cuban mojo, served with yellow rice and sweet plantains. The lechon was really good overall, but I was disappointed I got moro negro instead of yellow rice like it said on the menu.
For our second round of drinks, Zuly got a Coconut Mojito and I got the Tropical Summer which was Bumbu Rum, Strawberry Puree, Orange Juice, and Brown Sugar. This round of drinks was much better than the first.
Overall, our dinner at Tumbao was really fun thanks to the great music that was playing!
