I was browsing Living Social for some awesome deals when I came across a tour for Port Morris Distillery in the Bronx. The deal was a Tour and Tasting Package for Two for $12, and with a 20% off code I got it for just $9.60! This deal included a taste of 3 moonshines, a cocktail, and shot glass for each person, as well as a tour of the distillery.

Port Morris Distillery is where Pitorro, a Puerto Rican Moonshine, is made. This is a family business that started 6 years ago and was made public just 4 years ago. The recipe came from Ralph's uncle in Puerto Rico. It is 92 proof and very unique!
When I got there, Ralph was filling the bottles and sealing it with the labels himself! Talk about true entrepreneurship! I was very impressed by the whole process, as well as the many flavors Pitorro is made into! There were flavors like Coquito, Abuelita, Pineapple, Coconut, and many more.
Everything at the PMD Bar is made with moonshine. The entire process is unique because it supports NY agriculture. They ferment apples, honey, and sugar for 21 days and then cook it before the distilling process.
