Mamajuana Cafe Queens

June was my foodie friend Zuly's birthday month and she chose Mamajuana Cafe in Queens for dinner. This restaurant/lounge has a great outdoor space where you can still enjoy the music and enjoy the weather.

We enjoyed a pre-fixe menu for $45/person with a shared appetizer, an entree, and an array of desserts. Mamajuana put a nice touch on the menu and customized it for her birthday.

The shared appetizer included tostones, chicharrones de pollo y cerdo, yuca, sausage, skewers, and potatoes. It was a great appetizer and my favorite part of the meal.

For my entree I ordered the churrasco with chimichurri and yuca fries. It's a great sized skirt steak for the price and you can never have enough yuca fries.

I loved my cocktail. Combining my favorite flavors, coconut and pineapple, this Bailey's Coquito was a good added kick to my night. Now we were celebrating!

The selection of desserts were great! We got an entire plate of tres leches cake, chocolate mousse cake, bread pudding, cheesecake, and flan.

For my outfit of the night I wore woven shorts with a lace-up detail from Gap. I bought these shorts over the Winter when they were on sale for 50% off so I paid only $30! I paired them with a classic black soft tee from Old Navy that I got on clearance for $6 (no shame in my discount game).

I wanted to keep it simple and focus the outfit around the shorts-- and also show off these legs I've been working on the past few months🏋. I wanted to be comfortable the whole night so of course my favorite Steve Madden block heels were the go-to. With accessories from Old Navy and clutch from NY&Co, I was ready for a night out!
