Kingsbridge Social Club
Located in The Bronx just off the 1 train on 238th, Kingsbridge Social Club is the neighborhood spot for wood-fired pizza and craft beers. I didn't know anything about this place even though I live close by, and after leaving I was thinking about when I'll come back for more.
Immediately upon entering, the staff greets you with a smile and they are very accommodating. It's a simple place, seemed to be filled with locals, and the wood fire oven off in the back.
I ordered the Eggplant Parm Stack appetizer. I have always been a fan of eggplant ever since I studied abroad in Italy and haven't found many that I like in the states. This eggplant parm definitely measured up. With ricotta and mozzarella cheese oozing from every corner, this is a must -have! It was gone in a matter of minutes.
It was really hard choosing a pizza from their menu. Some of the options include The Wrecking Ball Pizza (sauce, pepperoni, onions, garlic, mozzarella cheese, oregano), Miele Di Melanzane Pizza (sauce, fried eggplant, crispy prosciutto, mozzarella cheese, capers, spicy honey), and the Bronx Deli Pizza (hot & sweet soppresata, provolone cheese, mozzarella cheese, cherry peppers).
I decided on the Green Eggs and Ham Pizza with ham, quail eggs, fontina, arugula, and parmesan. This is one of the best pizzas I've ever had! Egg was definitely a good life choice right here. I loved when the yolks would break apart and create an extra sauce for the pizza, it doesn't get better than that. Besides the pizza being really, really good, the crust was amazing as well and had the marks of being perfectly wood-fired in the oven.
I had a great meal at Kingsbridge Social Club and I can't wait to return!
