HUNGRY IN HEELS

DapperQ Presents: Dresscode -NYFW

It’s New York Fashion Week! The only thing on my agenda this year was to go to DapperQ’s Fashion Show titled, Dress Code. DapperQ hosted their 5TH Annual Queer New York Fashion Week Show at Brooklyn Museum featuring designers in the LGBTQ community. Hosted by Alex Mugler, from VICELAND’s show, My House, this show is the largest fashion event celebrating LGBTQ bodies and fashion during NYFW. Check out DapperQ's coverage on the event here. "Dress Code examined clothing as a coded language and one of the first visible markers of our identities, inviting the audience to consider the way garments uphold or challenge rigid stereotypes. dapperQ’s annual fashion shows serve as an incubator for talented designers who might not otherwise have a large platform at NYFW; a bridge between consumers and queer brands; a showcase of diverse models; a large NYFW stage for hair and makeup artists; and a celebration of queer style and queer bodies. This year was no exception, with our most diverse lineup of nine designers and over 70 models." - DapperQ.com

Designers include: A/C Space (NYC)

Jag & Co (NYC)

SALT (NYC)

I think the most exciting part for me besides the fashion show was being in a space where anyone could wear what they want. I don’t believe in gender stereotypes and DapperQ is all about “ungendering fashion.” Seeing all humans expressing themselves and being celebrated was truly an amazing thing. I was in the same room as so many other influencers I follow on IG and it was mesmerizing. Some of those include: @dapper_stemme, @adapperchick, and @jazzmynejay. What a fun experience it was from the red carpet, to the sip & shop, and then the fashion show. We were all dancing to the great music and surrounded by positive vibes all night. I cannot wait to experience this next year for DapperQ’s 6th Annual Queer NYFW show! Some videos from the night:

OOTN My outfit of the night was super fun. I am trying things that are outside of my comfort zone and I am really liking it! I have a few cape blazers in different colors because I feel like they are such great statement pieces!
